Congratulations to all!

Bands from all over the Midwest came to Marietta this weekend for the annual River City Ohio Blues Competition at the Lafayette Hotel.

The winner of the 17th annual competition was the Columbus-based band Long Tall Deb & The Drifter Kings of Lancaster Ohio, followed by soloist Paul Miles of Southfield, Michigan in second place, Third place went to the duo Gary Applegate & Sal Barbera from Seymour IN.

Long Tall Deb & The Drifter Kings received $1,000 first prize and sponsorship by the Blues, Jazz and Folk Music Society of Marietta to the 2009 International Blues Competition in Memphis, Tenn. Since he was a solo artist, Paul Miles will also be sponsored by BJFM to go to Memphis.
